Co-founder & Creative Director, We Are Parable

Anthony Andrews is the co-founder and creative director of We Are Parable, a multi-award-winning company championing Black cinema through immersive film experiences. Since 2013, he has worked with the BFI, Netflix, BBC Film, and others to deliver culturally impactful projects across the UK and internationally in Jamaica, Kenya, and Colombia. Under his leadership, the company has distributed Earth Mama and Banel & Adama. In 2023, Anthony was elected to the BAFTA Film Committee, and We Are Parable received top honours at the Big Screen Awards and BIFAs for its contribution to film exhibition and distribution.

Co-founder & Creative Director, We Are Parable

Anthony Andrews is the co-founder and creative director of We Are Parable, a multi-award-winning film exhibition and distribution company dedicated to providing audiences across the UK and beyond with culturally relevant, unique, and memorable experiences in Black cinema and television.

Since co-founding the company in 2013, Anthony has collaborated with prestigious organisations such as the British Film Institute, BBC Film, Netflix, Universal, Paramount, Warner Bros., and Film4, among others. In recent years, he has helped deliver international projects in Jamaica, Kenya, and Colombia in partnership with the British Council.

To date, We Are Parable has distributed two films: the BAFTA-winning Earth Mama (released in December 2023) and Banel & Adama (March 2024).

In 2023, Anthony was elected to the BAFTA Film Committee, which supports filmmakers in developing and advancing their careers. Later that year, We Are Parable was recognised with the Screen Event of the Year award at the Big Screen Awards and the Special Jury Prize at the British Independent Film Awards.
